Character Personality: Marco is first and foremost a Pirate. He lives and dies for his own version of freedom and loyalty to his crew. Unlike some pirate crews that keep their crew in line with fear or intimidation the Whitebeards are known for being more like a family with one another, referring to their captain as pops, and their crew as brothers and sisters. So as the second in command of the crew, Marco often acts a lot like the big brother, crazy uncle, or even the 'mother' of the crew. When Ace first joined the Whitebeards, Marco was even seen bringing him some soup and trying to make him feel more at home.

He's used to commanding a lot of respect because of his well earned reputation he's spent a lifetime building alongside Whitebeard. Despite his remarkable power, Marco tends to be more easygoing and laid back when you get to know him. It usually takes a lot to rattle his cool, like someone going after anybody he cares about is a very easy way to get on Marco's bad side. He'll sometimes push people's buttons just to know what buttons there are to push, yet still be willing to offer them a friendly hand. He's far more cunning than appearances suggest, filing away bits of information he can use behind his oftentimes silly and deadpan demeanor.

Marco loves to keep himself unpredictable, a bit of a survival trait as well as a means of keeping himself entertained. When presented with a new situation, he's the kind of man who will either lay low until he knows what's going on, or he'll just throw himself headfirst into the thick of it to see what'll happen. He's very good at quickly analyzing the strength of others and adjusting his strategies accordingly, doing what he'll think works best. There's always a strange sort of logic behind his 'madness', sometimes telling bold faced lies with small kernels of truth to throw people of their game.

During more peaceful times Marco can be quite a party animal, drinking, singing, and laughing with his friends and enjoying life to its fullest. Such times are a bit of a distant memory for Marco right now thanks to losing almost everyone he cares about, and having to go into hiding thanks to losing the war. He would love to put the horrors of the wars behind him, but he feels he knows better and that any seeming peace he might have found can come shattering down around him any moment. He may keep his true feelings off his face most of the time, but it's usually visible in the way he acts or dresses, wearing darker colors when he's brooding, and going off by himself when he's melancholy. While in the company of others he'll usually keep a certain level of deadpan facade so no one can easily figure out what he's feeling.

In his time with the Whitebeard pirates, Marco has traveled almost all over the world, becoming one of the most experienced pirates alive. He's seen the depths of human depravity, and he's earned a natural distrust for almost all forms of law and government. The only laws he respects are those that are made by those he actually respects, and there are very few people left alive that he holds respect for. Despite his occupation, Marco considers himself a man of principles in his own way, following his own code of conduct and holding others to the same standard. He considers himself the living breathing will of the Whitebeard pirates, its guardian, its messenger, and executioner, and his resolve his formidable indeed.

Powers and Abilities:

Very Intelligent, and a strong leader.

Network: Hey, I just want you all to know? Your city, your world? They are all now under the protection of the Whitebeard Pirates. What's that? You never heard of us yoi? Well tough, you're hearing about us right here and now, and we're taking your world by storm. Not the weird reality storm kind of storm either, though I'm sure we'll take it by that kind of storm too at some point. Don't worry, your lives get to keep on going hunky dory, but we'll be watching, and if anyone wants to step out of line? I'll be putting my foot down... on their neck. Any questions yoi?

Third Person: Marco was brooding. It seemed that had become his common pastime now that almost everything knew and loved was dead and gone. When his buddy Thatch died he'd gone into a sort of brooding phase that lasted quite a while, but this was far more extreme. He might never stop brooding because at the end of the day, he failed. He wasn't Whitebeard, he could never be Whitebeard, but he couldn't idly stand by and let Blackbeard destroy everything he knew and loved. Yet he failed, and now he was here. What was here? Did it even matter? Did anything ever really matter?

Marco flapped from his perch on a lamppost over towards a tall building where he could kick some rubble down onto the empty streets below. Whole cityscapes, worlds upon worlds of people who could wake up to this reality he'd found himself in now, and yet where was Whitebeard? His only blessing was that bastard Teach wasn't here... but then if he was he's fairly certain he'd try to kill him until neither of them truly existed properly anymore. Should he give up? Should he try something new? Was there any point? Ace probably would want him to stop brooding and do something productive, but Ace was an idiot. If he weren't such a lovable idiot none of this would have happened, but never for a moment would he hold that against him. He did what he felt he had to do, as did all the Whitebeard pirates.

Marco sighed and held up his communicator, idly browsing through the idiocy of the day. He was too old for this, he was too tired for this, he was too... nah to hell with it, he was Marco. He could do whatever the hell he damn pleased, and if that was taking over the world? Well the world would just have to learn it was already his.
